Child of Eden 3D? Yes, Please!

IGN updated this weekend with a tasty bit of 3D news – Tetsuya Mizuguchi, father of Rez, Space Channel 5 and all things cool,  all but confirmed that his latest brainchild Child of Eden would be 3D enabled when it ships for the PlayStation 3 later this year.

Mizuguchi spilled the stereoscopic beans during a live Q and A session at the Euro comic convention Kapow! Comic-Con, and while he didn’t directly say the game would support 3D, he was very enthuastic about the idea for at least the PlayStation 3 version (the XBox 360 version ships first this June with Kinect support).

Child of Eden’s trippy visuals would be well worth the wait for 3D in my opinion. Hey Miz, how about a 3D enabled Rez while you’re at it?

Cars 2 3D a PlayStation 3 Exclusive

Disney Interactive announced today that it’s upcoming summer movie tie-in Cars 2 will sport a 3D enabled mode only on the PlayStation 3. Cars 2 is Disney’s second 3D title – the company shipped Tron Evolution last holiday season. The PlayStation 3 version of Cars 2 will also sport a 3D 4 player split screen mode – so start saving for those extra glasses now!

Cars 2 is scheduled to launch on June 21, 2011. Don’t worry XBots and Wiitards – your version will ship at the same time, just sans 3D.

We’ve also heard rumblings of a Nintendo 3DS port that would launch around the same time Cars 2 comes home to Blu-Ray 3D this Fall. Stayed tuned (up) for more info!

Resistance 3… Wait For It… D

It’s been on our DigitalNipples PlayStation 3D list for months, but Insomniac Games made it official via Sony’s PlayStation Blog – Resistance 3 will feature both Move and 3D support.

Resistance 3 follows the story of Joseph Capelli, a discharged sentinel traveling from Oklahoma to New York taking on the aftermath of the Chimeran invasion.

Insomniac also recently announced that their now annual Ratchet and Clank sequel will also feature 3D visuals when it ships this holiday.

What other blockbuster sequels would you like to see sport 3D support? Leave a comment below, we’d love to hear your ideas!

This Week in 3D (March 29th, 2011)

This week’s Blu-Ray 3D release include a pair of IMAX disc and a Disney animated 4 pack – not to shabby if you ask me.

Tangled Blu-Ray 3D

Starring Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore, Tangled is one of those rare non-Pixar Disney gems that is not only pretty to look at, but also provides quite a few laugh worthy moments. This 4 disc bundle is packed to the brim with extras and proves Disney is taking the 3D market very seriously. Kudos Disney, and keep em coming!

Mummies 3D

Ultimate G's in 3D!

This pair of IMAX Blu-Rays round out this week’s Blu-Ray 3D releases. Mummies – Secret of the Pharaohs features the voice of legendary big screen actor and Sith lord Christopher Lee while Ultimate G’s is narrated by Michael Cera… yes, Scott Pilgrim himself.

Putting the Nasty in Dynasty!

Dynasty Warriors 7 is the lone gaming 3D entry this week. You know the drill – this button smasher has been around since the PlayStation 2 launch, and while the formula might have worn out it’s welcome years ago, this edition seems to have a positive buzz going for it.

Check back next week for more 3D releases – and don’t forget to pre-order the super swank edition Identity Disc collection of Tron and Tron: Legacy before it’s too late!

Sony Toots Its Own 3D Horn

Sony updated their PlayStation Blog today with this fun little graphic/piece of 3D propaganda showing why PlayStation is the destination for 3D entertainment.

A few interesting tidbits include that 20 percent of Killzone 3 demo downloaders opted for the 3D version and over 80,000 horny 3D TV owners were disappointed with the dreadfully boring Sports Illustrated 3D Swimsuit tease.

Of course, our very own DigitalNipples PlayStation 3D Games List and Blu-Ray 3D list could have told you the same thing.

This Week in 3D (March 22nd, 2011)

Hey Boo Boo, what 3D flick stars Dan Aykryod and Justin Timberlake and is a complete train wreck? It doesn’t take the smarts of an above average bear to figure out Yogi Bear is the lone Blu-Ray 3D release this week. It’s on sale this week at Amazon for $29.99, but even at that price you might want to think twice and invest those 3D dollars towards a Nintendo 3DS.

Speaking of which, 3D gaming gets a huge push this week with the release of Nintendo’s 3D super handheld, and with over 15 launch titles, gamers have a lot to be excited about. Instead of posting images for every single release, you can check out the full list on Amazon by clicking this link. Frugal gamers take note – Toys R Us is running a Buy One Get One 50 percent off sale starting this Sunday.

PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 owners also have a big 3D release this week – Crysis 2 ships to retail fully 3D enabled. The verdict is still out on this futuristic shooter, but it’s PSN 3D demo is extremely underwhelming.

What 3D movies/games do you plan to pick up this week? Leave a comment below and remember, friends don’t let other friends buy Yogi Bear 3D.

Sega Brings the Cap and Thor Home in 3D!

Prepare your eyes for a 3D super hero onslaught!

Sega announced today that their upcoming video game adaptions of Captain America and Thor will be completely 3D enabled when they hit home consoles this Spring. Both the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of the games will sport 3D visuals, just like their big screen brethren.

But don’t get those super hero panties in a bunch, Nintendo fans, Sega also proclaimed the impeding arrival of Nintendo 3DS versions of both titles. Both the DigitalNipples Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 3D games list have been updated.

This MotoGP Goes to 11

As the always inspirational and often deep DMX once said “Stop, drop, shut ’em down open up shop.”

Capcom announced this morning that it’s popular MotoGP 10/11 has “opened up shop” to retailers nationwide for the PlayStation 3. MotoGP 10/11 includes complete rider information, stats and tracks from the 2010 MotoGP season and players can also download an update for the 2011 season once it becomes available – a feature that would be much appreciated in other sport franchises.

MotoGP 10/11 also features a robust online mode that includes a 20 player championship and spectator mode. MotoGP 10/11 should be on store shelves this week for amazing $39.99, so strap on that riding suit and get ready to feel the rush at a down right bargain price.

Now where’s my Ruff Ryders’ soundtrack?

This Week in 3D (March 15th, 2011)

Another week, another 3D enabled PlayStation 3 game. This time 2K Sports’ Topspin 4 is the lone 3D disc on store shelves, but don’t get too discouraged 3D enthusiast, there’s a slew of Nintendo 3DS and Blu-Ray 3D releases just around the corner!

I’m still a little sore over 2K Sports NBA 2K11’s 3D bait and switch from last holiday season, but at least Topspin 4 showcases the 3D logo right on the front of the package. Never forget, 2K, never forget.

See Uncharted 3 in 3D

Sure, you may have watched the Uncharted 3 trailer before – but now you can see it… wait for it… in 3D!

Dreamy Drake in 3D

Sony updated the PlayStation Store tonight with a surprise treat – a 3D enabled trailer of the upcoming three-quel Uncharted 3. Naughty Dog’s third installment of the hit franchise has been called “the Avatar of 3D gaming” by multiple members of the press and this 3D enabled trailer definitely shows us why.

Uncharted 3 is scheduled to ship for the PlayStation 3 this November. If previous Sony releases are anything to go by, expect a decked out collector’s edition up for pre-order soon.

This Week in 3D (March 8th, 2011)

PlayStation 3 owners are in for a 3D treat – the system has two big 3D enabled releases this week!

Batting lead off in this 3D line up is Sony’s MLB 2011 The Show. We got a sneak peak last year with a MLB 10 3D enabled demo, but starting today you can purchase the real deal in complete 3D glory.

Next up is a PlayStation Plus exclusive – a 3D enable Mortal Kombat demo. Players will finally be able to “test their might” in 3D. The full retail release is set for April 19th.

This Week in 3D (March 1st, 2011)

Boot up those 3D enabled Blu-Ray players! This week’s 3D releases are a pair of IMAX releases, and thanks to Amazon’s price guarantee, both are  a steal at around 15 bucks!

The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D will have you feeling the ocean breeze in your living room. Kelly Slater and crew check out the biggest and best waves the world has to offer at Tahiti’s infamous Teahupo’o beach. Surf’s up!

The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D

Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia is prehistoric 3D adventure that proves size really does matter. Donald Sutherland narrates a 40 minute computer generated documentary about the largest dinosaurs to ever roam the earth.

Dinosaurs in 3D!

Check back next week for more 3D movie and game releases!

This Week in 3D (February 21st, 2011)

Finally, the 3D drought is over! This week we have two major 3D enabled releases, THQ’s DeBlob 2 and Sony’s Killzone 3.

DeBlob 2

DeBlob is the sequel (hence the number two in it’s title) to the once exclusive Nintendo Wii adventure. Players are encouraged to paint their black and white world whichever way they please, mixing music and bright visuals to bring on a techno color revolution. Expect a full 3D review soon!

Killzone 3

After checking out the 3D enable multiplayer and single player modes, we’re convince – Killzone 3 is the Avatar of 3D gaming. Once you experience the game on a 3D set, there’s no going back, take our word for it!

With less than a month to go till the Nintendo 3DS launch and a slew of Bu-Ray 3Ds scheduled to ship in March, keep your eyes peeled here for the latest 3D enabled news, reviews and more!

Dead Island – Late 90s Edition Trailer

Remember the late 90s? The Dreamcast was the hottest thing on the block, techno was king, and every game trailer featured Rob Zombie’s Dragula as it’s soundtrack…

I'm Holding Out for the Sequel - Dead Peninsula

With that theme, we’ve decided to make our own cut of the oh so popular Dead Island trailer that took the Internet by storm last week. Two times the speed, in reverse, toon shading, and of course – Dragula. Enjoy!

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition 2011 in 3D

“Today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of this Earth”

Ok, so quoting Lou Gehrig’s final speech may be a little over the top, but we here at DigitalNipples are down right giddy with today’s PSN update – an exclusive 3D enable Sports Illustrated Swimsuit video.

IN 3D!

“Swimsuit in 3D” is available for rental ($4.99) or purchase ($9.99) starting today, but don’t worry, there’s also a 3 minute freebie clip for the curious.

Slightly covered digital nipples in 3D… see kids, dreams do come true.

Pat Robertson Upset Over Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

700 Club founder Pat Robertson has voiced his displeasure with Capcom’s latest brawlfest Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. “Capcom has purposely ignored our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in their final lineup of fighters” Pat continued during a recent rant “Why is the fate of two worlds in the hands of second rate gods like Thor and Amaterasu when it’s obvious Jesus should have been made playable?”

When asked to comment, Thor, the god of thunder, only had this to say “Jesus? We cool.”

Capcom has decided to honor Robertson’s demands and will include Jesus in an upcoming DLC pack. Capcom wouldn’t comment on which version of Jesus would be playable, but early production work indicates 3D Jesus will at least be an alternative costume.

* WORK IN PROGRESS

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is now available for the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

Sony’s 3D PlayStation 3 Mega Sale!

Sony’s PlayStation Blog announced this morning that for the rest of January, 11 hit games on the PSN will be marked down by 50 percent. Of course, being the 3D whores that we are, we picked out the three 3D enable titles for you all priced at an incredible $4.99  –

  • MotorStorm 3D Rift
  • Swords and Soliders
  • Tumble

Check out the full list at the official PlayStation Blog, but act quick – these crazy prices will only be good through 1/31/11!

LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector’s Edition Arrives!

Here’s our short un-boxing video of LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector’s Edition for the PlayStation 3 –

The bookends could have been made with better quality material, and the run-of-the-mill Sack Boy is a little disappointing, but for $79.99, LittleBigPlanet fans should enjoy the package.

Unlimited FREE PS3 Movie Rentals? Yep.

When Vudu launched a risk free “Get $6 in Free Rentals” PlayStation 3 promotion it almost seemed to good to be true… and thanks to a glitch that we discovered, it just got better!

That Vudu That You Do...

After clearing out some hard drive space, the DigitalNipples lab noticed that after trying our initial free trial we had deleted the Vudu application from our PlayStation. Curious to see what new HD and 3D content was available, we downloaded the app again only to be offered the same $6 credit for signing up a new account.

Now you can rent Avatar as many times as you want.

The best thing about Vudu’s offer? It doesn’t require a credit card or any private information – just a non-verifed e-mail address.

So what are you waiting for? This glitch wont last forever!

Final Fantasy XIII 3D?

Square Enix fans in Japan recently received this cryptic message in the mail, hand signed by Final Fantasy character artist Tetsuya Nomura.

She must not be forgotten...

We’re betting a Final Fantasy XIII rerelease will be taking place, this time in 3D. Square Enix has shown the game multiple times via 3D demos and a rerelease fits quite nicely onto Square Enix’s  first quarter void.
